Family Assistance Specialist (FAS) Training

Family Assistance Specialist (FAS) Training

Disaster Management International is the world leader in both specialty training and skilled, compassionate crisis and mass casualty response. Please consider the following if you have interest in this type of family support work.

FAS team members are generally called to respond within the first 72 hours of a mass casualty/crisis event. (Please don't disqualify yourself if your work or family commitments require you to make special arrangements which may take a little longer; in many cases we will be able to work this out with you).

Most deployments run 4-5 days, some can run up to 2-3 weeks. (It is understood that our FASs are not always going to be available; we strongly believe that your own family responsibilities come first.)

Perfect health is not a prerequisite . . . good health is, however, important! While FAS responsibilities do not include personal, hands-on care of families, please be aware that our work days can run long and travel, in general, can be challenging.

For questions/concerns, feel free to contact our FAS Coordinator, Leah Hawley
